Proposal - Secondary Research

Secondary research for this work will consist of looking into existing packaging for records that are of noteworthy design using books such as:
Intro, 2000. Sampler 2: Art, Pop and Contemporary Music Graphics. Laurence King Publishing.
Turcotte, B.R. & Woods, D., 2007. Punk Is Dead: Punk Is Everything! Gingko Press.
I will also research into bands that would be suitable for the release of a 7-inch box set, to do this I will use web resources such as:
www.punkoiuk.co.uk www.punknews.org as well as a variety of appropriate books including:
Azerrad, M., 2003. Our Band Could Be Your Life: Scenes from the American Indie Underground 1981-1991. Little, Brown & Company.
Lynskey, D. 2011. 33 Revolutions Per Minute, Faber and Faber.
Smith, C. 2009. 101 Albums that Changed Popular Music, OUP USA.
Thompson, D. 2002. The Music Lover’s Guide to Record Collecting, Backbeat Books.
I will also research graphic artists known for creating well known album covers or music related designs that have strong modernist influences, for example: Pete Saville, Neville Brody and 8vo.
Holt, M. & Muir, H., 2005. 8vo - On the Outside, Lars Muller Publisher-s.
King, E. & York, P., 2003. Designed by Peter Saville, Frieze.
Winterbottom, M. 2002. 24 Hour Party People, Revolution Films.
